Understudies
Understudies are called to technical rehearsals.

COVID Health Screen and Testing
Students will need to fill out and pass the DOE Health Screen on each day, including the weekends. It is recommended that families utilize the COVID rapid tests distributed by the NYC DOE at the start of the week (2 test kits) and test their child throughout the Joyce week.

Masks
Per Joyce Theater policy, students need to wear masks at all times when they are backstage at The Joyce Theater, except when eating. Students do not need to wear a mask onstage while performing, however they may wear one if they feel safer doing so. Students who are wearing a mask onstage will be provided with a flesh tone costume mask.

Meals
School staff will provide meals for those students before the performance on Thursday and Friday and for students who are in both performances on Saturday and both performances on Sunday. In addition, you may send your child to the theater with a snack. Please make sure that your child has breakfast before he or she arrives on Saturday and Sunday.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Due to COVID safety it would actually be helpful for us to have fewer students backstage in between performances. Families of students who are dancing in BOTH performances: you are welcome to pick up your child in between performances and bring them to dinner. Students who leave the theater in between performances must be back at The Joyce by 5PM. If you are not able to pick up your child in between performances then your child will stay at the theater and have dinner with BT staff.

Metrocards
Students will be provided with  10 Metrocard rides — one card that has 2 rides on it, and one card that has 8 rides on it.  (2 rides for each day we are at the theater, Thursday – Sunday, plus for the Tuesday when there is no school.)

Call-Times
Pay attention to call-times as they vary from student to student. Students are expected to be on time. However, they should not arrive at either Ballet Tech or the theater earlier than 30 minutes prior to their call-time as there will not be staff present to supervise them.
